For large proposals that include multiple investigators, multiple departments or multiple institutions, our office can offer a range of services, including the following:
Collaborating with the Principal Investigator(s) to develop project management strategies for the submission process, such as customized checklists of required application components, agency specific guidelines and information from the Program Announcement (PA) or Request for Applications (RFA).
Helping investigators to refine and articulate program goals and outcomes.
Providing administrative support, such as collecting and updating biosketches and funding information, and assisting with proposal assembly. Our office works closely with the Office of Research Administration (ORA), which officially reviews, approves and submits proposals. ORA is the Authorized Organizational Representative (AOR) and Signing Official (SO) for all proposals, grants, contracts and subcontracts. ORA is the only Authorized Business Official that can legally bind Tufts for sponsored research proposals and funding agreements. Please note: In addition to contacting the Office of Proposal Development as early as possible, please contact the Office of Research Administration to inform them of your planned proposal to ensure that it meets all university and federal requirements before submission.
Providing templates for standard grant sections, as well as standard institutional text (e.g., regarding the libraries, information technology, schools, or individual departments).
Editing proposals to ensure strong grantsmanship, readability, proper formatting, and elimination of typographical errors.
The amount of assistance we are able to provide varies based on the schedule and capacity of our office in a given time period.
Please contact us as early as possible in advance of your deadline, so that we can work with you to determine what level of assistance we can provide.
