The members of the Office of Proposal Development work as a team to support faculty and their staff in all stages of grant development, from initial meetings for project development through the final application submission. Each of the writers has worked on a broad variety of grant mechanisms and the team has experience with most federal agencies, as well as some large foundations. In addition to the grantsmanship and administrative support described below, our staff collaborate with faculty members to support the writing process for effective grant proposals.
Examples of grant support by our office include major institutional infrastructure grants (Clinical and Translational Science Award, Regional Biocontainment Laboratory, C06 construction funding from NIH), support for graduate students (NIH's T32 training grants, Department of Education's Graduate Assistants in Areas of National Need, National Science Foundation's GK-12 program), support for undergraduates (NIH-funded Bringing Engineers into New Disciplines program, NSF's CSEMS program), research on international aid and affairs (USAID, NSF), individual faculty research grant applications and equipment grants from both NIH and NSF.
